PICS: Mangwana dismisses reports of rift with Mutodi, provides the v11
DEPUTY Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi yesterday reportedly refused to take a seat close to the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Nick Ndabaningi Mangwana at the Independence Day celebrations yesterday.
However, Mangwana, who says he is 10 years older than Mutodi, has shared pictures of the two actually having a conversation and appearing cool next to each other.
The photo shared yesterday might have been snapped just at a time Mutodi had shifted away from Mangwana, leaving an unoccupied seat between the two, thus feeding into the reports that the two do not see eye to eye.
Mangwana says: “It wasn’t a photo-shoot actually. We were just seated naturally. There was no need to squash each other.
“We needed the space to be able to comfortably look at each whilst talking. Was seated in row three and Deputy Minister invited me to the empty space.”
A few months ago, there were reports that the two are in different factions in the ruling party and have been fighting behind closed doors over how the ministry must be run.
“Sharing a gallery. It’s a Good Friday,” Mangwana said.
